Project Statement

After the initial research into cellular systems, I was intrigued by how one single cell/organ grows into a system of multiple cells/organs with a high level of continuity. I was also intrigued by how the cells/organs are tied together by a network of strings/blood vessels: every part is the whole and every whole is the part. I try to emulate that in the designs.

The 'micro-detail'---how the cells/organs go together and the coherent affect made out of individual cells/organs become the prime investigation in this project. Cells/organs that differentiated from/related to each other are organized in a stylized order in an attempt to achieve the continuity inherent in cellular systems. The 'loops' or the blood vessels become the form generator and organizing tool for the systems.
